Safety First

Safety

Our vision is to create a company where living safely is part of the fiber of everyone’s being. It’s a place where everyone in the workplace is committed to, and recognizes the possibility of, working without incident or injury. We support that commitment with education, training, management involvement and support, and a company-wide culture of safety.

We share a personal and professional commitment to protecting the safety and health of our employees, vendors, and customers. We conduct ourselves and our business affairs in accordance with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with all applicable OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations, as well as all federal, state, and local laws. We monitor our safety culture through the use of incident reporting, near miss reporting, safety observations and training, weekly safety meetings, monthly workplace audits and employee participation in a Job Safety Analysis (JSA) Program and online safety training courses. In addition, all employees and visitors follow strict Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) policies in order to reduce job risks and maintain a safe working environment.

Our employees are required to participate in the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) Program before a task is performed. This requires the employee to take a step back to look at the job and take all necessary precautions to mitigate any hazardous work conditions. When all hazards have been identified and mitigated or reduced to an acceptable level, the task may be completed. If the hazards cannot be removed, the task will not continue until it is safe to do so. All Elite Supply employees have the authority to and are encouraged to stop any work they believe jeopardizes the safety of people, property or the environment. As an added measure, our employees are strongly encouraged to report their concerns directly to the Safety Director or their Manager.

Elite Supply Partners' employees receive CPR/First Aid, BBP, forklift safety, warehouse safety, DOT, and H2S training. This training is conducted in new hire orientation and annual refresher training. Elite Supply ensures that all of our employees are given customer site-specific training prior to arriving at a customer’s work site. All Elite Supply employees must pass a new hire drug/alcohol screen and physical and are subject to random drug/alcohol testing.

In addition to new employee training, all employees company-wide participate in online Safety Training Courses provided by Russel Metals. New courses are released monthly and cover a wide range of Safety training topics. Employees complete courses in order to gain a deeper understanding of various Safety topics. These include topics like general safety, personal protection equipment, emergency action plans, office and driving ergonomics and much more.

The belief that great results can be achieved by building strong relationships and a positive team spirit is the focus of our culture. This culture improves the workplace by creating an environment that is personally fulfilling for our employees, because everyone is treated with dignity and respect. Our employees watch out for each other and value doing things safely because it is the right thing to do.
